There is a coldness and an indifference to old-fashioned Bible preaching. God said, speaking to Isaiah, “Lift up thy voice, cry aloud, spare not, make my people know they have sinned.”  You think of God’s admonition in II Corinthians 6:14, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers...” You think of Christians being joined in lodges and associations with unbelievers. You think of Christians in business with unbelievers. You may not be able to find a grocery store run by Christians. The mechanic who works on your car may not be a Christian. The man who cuts your hair may not be a Christian. I am not talking about a Utopia but about a communion. God said there is never to be a communion between a saved and an unsaved person. “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers...”  Here is what God says we are to do about it: “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate...” (2nd Corinthians 6:17). You say, “What is the answer to it?” That is the answer. I am preaching to people who belong to modernistic churches. I have people tell me, ”I don’t hear the truth where I go.” But you keep going! You send in your money. You help support it. You pay a man of the cloth to speak who denies the Bible. Evangelist Alexander Marshall Was 100% Correct On Repentance

       Here is a beautiful and doctrinally sound teaching by Evangelist Alexander Marshall (1846-1928), from his excellent tract titled, “God's Way Of Salvation.” This is GOOD STUFF! ...

“I HAVE NOT REPENTED ENOUGH”

What do you mean? “I am not sorry enough for my sins.”

And if you were very sorry, would God be more willing to save you than He is now? “I think so.”

Then you are completely mistaken.

“But does it not say, unless we repent we shall perish?”

Yes; but what do you think is the Scriptural significance of “repentance”? If you say “sorrow for sin” you are wrong. It does not mean sorrow for sin: it means a CHANGE OF MIND (Matt. 21:29). This change will doubtless produce sorrow; but sorrow and repentance are two very different things (Heb. 12:17. margin, and II Cor. 7:9). When God calls on you to “repent, and believe the Gospel,” He wishes you to lay aside your wrong thoughts, and believe the glad tidings that He proclaims to you. Formerly you may have imagined that you were required to feel very sorry before being saved. Change your mind. You may have supposed you must first “feel” some great change in order to know you were saved. Change your mind. First believe in God's great love to you, as revealed in His gospel, and you will KNOW that you have eternal life (John 5:24).

Yes, that is excellent. Mr. Marshall is 100% correct! Yet, some unlearned and/or heretical person changed his tract, completely removing the preceding section on repentance from the work. Marshall plainly says that sinners are saved by BELIEVING THE GOSPEL, that is, he says, “to lay aside your wrong thoughts [Repentance], and believe the glad tidings [Gospel] that He proclaims to you.” You can read more in my article defending Brother Marshall, titled, “The Horrible Misrepresentation of Evangelist Alexander Marshall.” Someone has done a great injustice against this dear saint of God!!! Alexander was 100% right in his position on repentance being “a change of mind.”

Lordship Salvation is a perversion of the Gospel, a theological disease which has infected most apostate churches today, an accursed gospel that damns men's souls to Hell. The true Gospel of grace teaches that eternal life and forgiveness of sins are freely received, by submitting to God's righteousness, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.” This is the imputed righteousness of God!
